A year at our school

Mad Scientist Day

Mad Scientist Day is one of the highlights of National Science Week at our school, where curiosity and creativity come alive! Our students dive into a world of discovery, participating in hands-on activities that spark their imagination and deepen their love for science. The excitement is doubled as many dress up in fun and inventive costumes, representing famous scientists and their groundbreaking work. This day encourages every student to think like a scientist - asking questions, experimenting, and exploring the wonders of the world around them.

Harmony Day

At our school, Harmony Day is a cherished occasion where we come together to celebrate the rich cultural diversity that makes our community so unique and vibrant. On this special day, you’ll often find our students dressed in orange, symbolising social connection and unity. It’s a time filled with joy, respect, and understanding, where every child feels valued and embraced for who they are. Through engaging activities, heartfelt conversations, and creative expressions, we honour the spirit of inclusiveness and the importance of kindness, making Harmony Day a truly memorable celebration for everyone at our school.

Colour Fun Run

Our Colour Fun Run is one of the most exciting and joyful events of the school year! It’s a day filled with laughter, colour, and community spirit as our students dash, skip, and run their way through a vibrant course showered with bursts of colourful powder. Smiles light up every face as friends cheer each other on, celebrating the fun and fitness that bring us all closer together. This special day not only promotes healthy activity but also creates unforgettable memories and a wonderful sense of belonging for everyone. At our school, the Colour Fun Run is a bright reminder that learning isn’t just about books - it’s about joy, friendship, and celebrating every step of the journey.

Banora Bazaar

The Banora Bazaar is a wonderful celebration of creativity, teamwork, and community spirit at our school. Our Stage 3 students pour their energy and enthusiasm into designing, creating, and organising their own stalls to raise funds for the Year 6 Farewell. From brainstorming ideas to setting up their stalls, these young leaders show incredible dedication and pride in bringing their plans to life. The Banora Bazaar becomes a lively hub where students of all ages come together to explore, play, and support one another. It’s heartwarming to see how this event not only helps our Year 6 students prepare for their special farewell but also brings the entire school community closer, celebrating collaboration and kindness every step of the way.

Teddy Bears Picnic

Our Teddy Bears Picnic is a truly special and heartwarming event that brings together our Kindergarten students, their families, and our wider community. On this day, children bring their favourite teddy bears to school, sharing giggles and stories while enjoying tasty treats with their family. Together, we listen to charming bear tales and take part in beary cute activities that spark joy and creativity. We’re also excited to welcome our future Kindergarten students for 2026 and our neighbours from the preschool across the road, making this picnic a wonderful opportunity to build friendships and connections beyond the classroom. The Teddy Bears Picnic is more than just fun—it’s a celebration of community, friendship, and the special beginnings of school life.

Story Dogs

Our Story Dogs program is a wonderful way to help students build reading skills and confidence in a calm, supportive environment. With the gentle companionship of Heidi, our trained reading dog, children feel relaxed and encouraged as they read one-on-one. This program creates a positive and friendly space where every child can grow as a confident, happy reader.
